HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format used on iPhone and iPad since iOS 11. It stores images more efficiently than JPG — roughly half the file size at the same quality — but isn't supported by most non-Apple apps and devices.

Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?

Minimal quality loss. We convert at 92% JPEG quality, which is visually lossless for nearly all use cases. The resulting JPG will be slightly larger than the HEIC but look identical on screen.

Why can't Windows open my HEIC files?

Windows doesn't include a HEIC decoder by default. You can install the HEIF Image Extensions from the Microsoft Store, or simply convert your photos to JPG for universal compatibility.
